SEDATION 4  Audio Systems

Enjoyment of fine music is of prime importance when yachting.  The audio systems aboard SEDATION 4 are designed to compliment a variety of styles from  classical to jazz to heavy metal.  Selection of components was significantly influenced by efficiency of the electronics.  The vessel's listening areas are zoned to permit flexibility of programming and power consumption.  Satellite speakers and Sub-woofers fore and aft have individual amplifiers with local volume controls.  The (6) salon speakers are controlled from the main head unit, near the helm, which is also the master source with CD changer.  Each stateroom has a separate head unit for control of speakers in each respective bedroom and bath area.  In the staterooms, we can access programming from the master head unit, for a boat-wide listening experience, or choose local sources like CD, AM/FM or cassette tape instead.

Speakers are assigned to Left- or Right-Channels for optimum phasing to enhance enjoyment regardless of listening position.  In the main salon, for example, the speakers at the forward  and aft ends of the starboard wall are assigned to the Right channel while the middle speaker is Left.  On the port wall, assignments are reversed.   The sub-woofers utilize space within the stateroom's forward closets and both motor boxes to enhance bass response without booming obnoxiously in the listeners' ears.  Low frequency sounds will be transmitted mechanically into adjacent interior spaces at naturally attenuated levels for a more pleasurable experience.

Details of the systems' individual components will be added soon.
