| Below are
some early screen
snapshots of the vessel's 3D solid model. (No ... the boat isn't
green! It's just an easy color to use for
visualization)
Many have high-resolution alternate images available, so just
click
your mouse over 'em and see what happens.
Here's a partial profile from the port side showing the "eyebrows" over the pilothouse windows and the bedrooms' front bulkheads. These keep the sun and rain away when windows are open ... a common scenario in the Caribbean. |
| Here's a ghosted view of the same: |
| Wondering what all that colored stuff is? Take a peek at this view of my lab/workshop area: |
| Two red 3-drawer toolboxes are
located just aft of the 24" x 36" stainless countertop (presently my
microscope table in the lab at home) at a comfortable height for
me. Sorry kids ...
they're too tall for your inquisitive eyes! Just forward of the
lab
door bulkhead is a 24" x 36" desktop (29" above floor height) for my
computer
workstation. The Ice Maker (purple box) and Bar Fridge (blue box)
protrude
through the hull above but they will be hidden by cabinetry with
storage
bins and shelves. A wall will separate the stairway from the desk
area,
further hiding the forward face of the Bar Fridge. On the outer
hull
walls, across from the lab/workshop and desk area, there will be
numerous
built-in bins, cabinets, drawers etc. to hold a plethora of
stuff.
Note, I probably will NOT install a door in the lab bulkhead.
Let's remove the roofs for a clearer view of the bathrooms and sleeping areas: |
| Immediately forward of each
stairway
is a large (37"W x
34"L x 80"H) shower with
a small vanity, opposite the shower, on the
outer hull wall. Storage is located beneath. Forward of the vanity is
the
enclosed
head (28"W x 48"L) with reading lights, flip-down laptop table and
another
huge opening porthole. Inboard from the head and forward of the
shower
stall is the bathroom counter with sink and storage below. Behind
the
pivoting mirrored panels is access to the "basement" storage area under
the
pilothouse
floor. Portions of this storage area are dedicated for utility
runs
of electrical, plumbing and HVAC systems but the remainder
provides
LOTS of storage space accessible from each bathroom and the flip-up
steps
in the salon. At the forward end of the bathroom counters are the
bedroom
door bulkheads. These are actually an extension of the main
load-bearing
bulkhead in-line with the mast. The next bulkheads forward are
for
the closets. Notice the huge cut-out beneath each closet
door
... it's for luggage storage. At the rear of each
closet
(actually forward) is an access panel to the rope locker in each
hull.
These should be used infrequently for servicing the dual anchor winches
and
when (not if) the anchor rope/chain gets tangled. Better to plan
ahead
:)
In this view many of the salon's features are visible: |
| The purple box visible behind
the sliding-doorway is the cooktop with oven beneath. The
queen-size mattresses are visible because the interior bulkheads are
hidden in this view. Notice the steps up to the pilothouse floor
... a built-in settee will occupy the area forward. To keep me
from rolling off the raised floor, a Ø2" aluminum railing will
separate the two levels attached to a Ø2" vertical pole from
floor-to-roof at the steps
Finally, here's a ghosted isometric view of the whole vessel sans the side decks and vertical hull-extensions: |
| That's all for now. Pretty rendered 3D pictures are now posted. |
