Each tank is protected by
1/2" neoprene rubber pads to prevent abrasion and minimize shock vibration.
|
|
Clearance is provided to allow for 2% expansion
of the tanks per manufacturer's recommendation. Neoprene pads seperate
the retention brackets from the tanks' surfaces. Notice the string installed
to facilitate running of the fuel sending unit wires after the floors are
installed.
|
|
Provisions are made in stringers and bulkheads
to permit unobtructed installation of fuel lines and fill/vent hoses without
contact points which could induce chafing.
|
|
Watertight inspection hatches are provided
for access to all fittings, sending units etc. in compliance with ABYC Standards.
The entire fuel system will be pressure-checked and certified leak-free per
standard test procedures.
|
|
Tanks
are permanently secured beneath the floors. Here a mixture of resin
and flox is being applied to the stringer tops before the floor panel is installed.
All edges and seams are then laminated with fiberglass cloth and resin.
Notice the neoprene pad atop the tank ... it will never contact the underside
of the floor during normal operation but will limit tank movement to 1/2"
in the unlikely event of capsize.
