The raised pilothouse
floor is almost completed! This "basement"
arrangement provides lots of oversize storage space and integrates the
ventilation ducts into the vessel's structure.
|

|
Installation of the
refrigerators, icemaker and deep freezer is almost complete. The
efficient refrigeration systems aboard SEDATION 4 permit extended
cruising with minimal energy consumption.
|

|
The roofs
page has been updated with pictures and movies. All 3 panels are
completed and awaiting installation.

Now that the holidays are
over, work on SEDATION 4
has resumed at a rapid
pace. I'm so excited that I can't sleep! Awakening around
1:30 am every morning, I work on the boat model (with the help of LOTS
of espresso :) and plan the day's activities. Arriving at the
boatbuilders around 7:30 each morning and working non-stop until after
dark should be exhausting ... but it's not. I grab a quick bite,
head home to take a long shower (that fiberglass is a real PIA to wash
off) and crash. Sometimes I forget to plug-in the laptops and/or
cell phone for recharging but there's plenty of early morning hours to
compensate. Documenting the progress with my camera is quick and
easy using the Canon S30 and Apple iBook but converting all this info
to web content is tedious. I'll try to keep the site fairly
current but supervision duties are really taking a substantial chunk
out of my days. Lunch breaks don't exist, for me, anymore.
That's ONE hour each day that I can spend uninterrupted at the plant.
